Welcome to the new website for RPI Paintball. We are a sport club recognized by the Rensselaer Union that provides the RPI Community with an outlet to play the exciting and fast-growing sport of paintball. For more information about the club, please search the "About Us" pages using the navigation to the left.
5-9-09We've come to the end of the semester. Hope everyone has a fun summer and gets out there and plays some paintball. I started a thread in the forum to let everyone share their paintball summer plans, so post up. If you're an incoming freshman for the class of 2013, welcome to RPI. If you have interest in joining the club or the NCPA team, be sure to come to the Student Activities Fair at the Houston Field House during the first week of classes and sign up. If you have any questions, post in the forum or e-mail us. 4-4-09NCPA Class AA Event #4.5 Maynard, MA - The New England Open The fourth and final NCPA event saw a split in the traditional Northeast Conference, as the southern teams played in Taneytown, MD and the northern teams played at Boston Paintball Outdoor in Maynard, MA. Several teams, such as Central Connecticut State University and Bridgewater State College, used the opportunity to make their debuts. RPI once again played inconsistently, going 2-6 in the prelims and failing to reach the semifinals. We congratulate UMass on winning and CCSU for placing second in their first ever NCPA tournament. This concludes the NCPA season for RPI. All players who played in the last two tournaments are returning for next year, which should hopefully produce better results. Also, the success of this tournament will likely lead to the formation of the New England Conference of the NCPA, which would lead to more tournaments closer to RPI. This video is us against SUNY Buffalo.
2-7-09NCPA Class AA Event #3 Greensburg, PA - The Frost BowlRPI sent a line down to All American Paintball Park to compete in the Frost Bowl, known to be one of the best-run tournaments in the NCPA. Twenty-seven other teams competed and proved to be fierce competition. RPI got off to a slow start, losing its first five games, but rebounded to win its last three games in resounding fashion. Unfortunately, the push proved futile as RPI fell short of reaching the semifinals. Despite the disappointment, RPI's players gained some valuable experience and are looking forward to the fourth event of the season. 11-22-08NCPA Class AA Event #2 Chesapeake City, MD - NEIC ChampsHaving already kicked off the year with the first event in Massachusetts the RPI Team was ready to prove itself yet again and did the team do that. We came out shooting and ended our 8 preliminary games with a 5-3 record putting us in the 5th seed out of 19teams. This easily put us into the semi final round robin bracket. In the semi finals all teams stepped up the game and the RPI team had a handful of hard fought battles that left us in 7th place at the end of the day. Our huge improvement at this tournament has shown the true effectiveness of our team practices over the past two months. This tournament marks the conclusion of the outdoor fall season of paintball so the team will continue as students of the sport by watching and dissecting videos while keeping athletically active throughout the winter. Expect this momentum to continue into the future as the team increases its standings in the National Collegiate Paintball Associaton. 09-27-08NCPA Class AA Event #1 Maynard, MA - UMass Open 8-20-08NRB Day Activity at High Energy Paintball, Amsterdam NYRPI Paintball put on a fantastic freshman day event again this year during RPI’s annual Navigating Rensselaer and Beyond activity day. Led by volunteers from the club, 30 freshman students shot each other up in a variety of game types on High Energy’s scenario and speedball fields.
